Recently I've been thinking a lot about Olivia's personality and behavior
I've come to some confidence that she is, in some way, neurodivergent and not at all the "normie/stacy" she seems to be at first glance.
She was afforded the benefits of being a pretty girl, being sociable, and living in the most insane city on Earth which have obfuscated how distinctly un-normal she is.
She doesn't just have a predilection for traditionally feminine aesthetics and interests, it's an outright fascination and idolization, even obsession. That ain't normal.
She isn't just social, she's convinced that she can be friends with everyone, and is trusting to a point beyond oblivious and into childlike self-endangerment. That ain't normal.
She exhibits classic neurodivergent behavior like her penchant for eating paper, an abnormally negative reaction to "the feeling of metal," and a rather strict adherence to waking up at a specific time for no practical reason. Also her struggles with feeding herself. That ain't normal.
She retains a lot of childlike behavior, mentalities and interests despite being well into adulthood. Her excitability just isn't the kind you see from adults or even teenagers who'd be characterized as "genki."
Despite being genuinely rather intelligent, and with a memory like a steel trap, she's often scatterbrained and forgetful in the moment. Not exactly an uncommon trait, but compounded with the previous and many other quirks, you get the idea.
Anyway I love Olivia Monroe, both in spite of and because of whatever the hell is wrong with her.
