>>106152413Deadbeat Day is a day of great festivity and joy throughout Morijigoku. Most every town or neighbourhood of a city organizes an official party where food and drink aplenty are served, and large dances ensue. There is always at least one musician or musical group on duty at those occasions, and multiple for the larger events.
One fun rule of those celebrations is that the place of highest honor is given to those who have recently departed the mortal realm; indeed, an individual who has passed away before Deadbeat day will have their flesh removed, as is customary for a dead Deadbeats, and their skeleton will be invited. There, they are seated at the table, given wine to drink and brought to the floor to dance with the help of skilled puppeteer. After Deadbeat Day, they are then entombed into the catacombs, full of joy and merry.
