Writing some tips and subjective advice for Boltgun in hopes that Kiki reads this before going into hyperfocus gaming mode:
- Try to pay more attention to that damage modifier icon near your enemy's healthbar. Some weapons are really bad at damaging high-strength enemies, like when there's a *clink* sound of bullets bouncing off of armor (the shotgun is really bad at this).
- The Machine Spirit power-up (the green-glowing cog) upgrades your currently help weapon for the duration of the level. Make sure you pick it up while holding the weapon you intend to use the most. It affects every weapon differently, sometimes in non-obvious ways (try holding left click with the Plasma Gun).
- Settings -> Gameplay -> Toggle Run
Saves you from holding the run button all the time (just press it once to autorun). There's no stamina mechanic, so unless it's too hard for you to control the character this way, I suggest enabling it.
- There are three grenade types, you can switch between them with G and throw them with Q (by default):
Frag grenade (the square-ish one) is your usual grenade.
Flak grenade (the round-ish one) explodes instantly on hit but covers less area.
Vortex grenade (the green one) is rare but REALLY powerful. Try using one on a boss.
