I lurked for 2 days and members from each sent out apology updates saying they would be off for a day, then sent even more small messages out. It felt like a warm wave washed over me, like people who actually gave a shit. I couldn't believe how nice it felt just to be given an update over something so mundane. It just put into perspective how bad shit had gotten that I'm so desperate for basic communication.
I thought I was at fault for being too clingy or something, but other companies make the things I've been missing seem so normal and I realize this fanbase has completely normalized this fucked "Understanding," this false promise that they're too busy and face too much parasocial harassment to warrant basic communication.
