>>52421589In fairness, I think the reason why people were so scared or shocked when it first came out was because the WAD just came out of nowhere. It's not like it was posted on Reddit or any other social media platform, it was posted on the Doomworld forums, a place which is severely underpopulated compared to back in the day. And given the fact that it took people a few days to realize something was up with the WAD, there were also a few players that were probably freaked out knowing that they were probably one of a handful of strangers stumbling across its secrets in real time.
Of course, now that MyHouse.wad is well known and popular, a lot of the mystique is certainly gone.
