They take a while to get through so it can eat up many streams. Plus a vtuber might get an interest for something they see someone else being played.
Mega Mans are a good example recently. Runa, Rena, Iomi, Myu and of course Riona are all on various degrees of Mega Man kicks and there are a ton of the games so it can take a while to get through and even if they don't go full time addicted it can still sit in the schedule for a while.
Zelda is another where it can happen, because someone enjoys one and then wants to try others in the series plus fans of it likely are fans of others too. It's a natural thing really.
Outside the Nintendo games there are others like this as well, such as Metal Gears or Silent Hills or Clocktowers or Devil May Cries or Final Fantasies or SaGas or Dragon Quests. Once even Twisted Metal, where Rena played through almost every twisted metal game a year or two back.
Meanwhile something like Wave Race of Pilot Wings shows up from time to time but generally is a one-off.
I don't think there is anything wrong with it, there are plenty of vtubers and streams so I find there is always something to watch.
