I think this upsets nonartists the most but as an artist, I am trying to make people happy and it's easier if they tell me what they want.
Do you know what actually hurts? Doing something that is actually pretty time-consuming to do for someone who never wanted it in the first place (like making HQ NSFW art for seiso chuubas)
I think some subtlety is important, for sure, sometimes you just don't know what to draw and requests are actually a godsend
