The point is not "you cannot challenge the power", the point is that great man theory is inherently false and one man with a dumb idea should not be allowed to be carried by mass movements to power.
China is an extreme, but it more or less reflects how things run in all the countries around it too - you don't get purged for opposing the establishment, you get it for doing it ALONE. If people have a shared problem - the plumbing in a WHOLE district is fucked - then the government WILL obey the people. They SHOULD NOT obey the whims of lone wolf ideologues.
Nowhere in the west would they do what they do in China where they BOTH publically officially condemn Mao but still go after people who insult him, because they don't understand that social harmony is more important than purity of belief, or commitment to ideology, or will of man or whatever the fuck else.

We desire to put OURSELVES before others for once, an actualization of the self-will which is ultimately an expression of narcissism. A REJECTION of the collectivism intrinsic to human nature and society.
