I always imagine, in a wave of distress, she couldn't conceal her romance background and reverted to a med mode of thinking, so she passionately smacks those three letters, forgetting she is now in anglo lands. She wants to contribute to civilized discourse in English, but her boiling terroni blood won't let her hide what a Italian slut she is. I almost always pop at least half chub when this happens.
