It's hard to be interested in an event where you're only limited in that area far away from where one usually builds. I think more people would participate if they could build somewhere closer to where they usually build where a lot more people would be able to see it, plus it could also help with adding to a town they're currently working on so it won't cause much disruption on their current projects.
>categoriesI don't think categories were necessary, especially for the small amount of builders we have that would be even willing to participate. I know differently themed builds would be impressive in one way and lack in another, but that's what the judging criteria is for. I suggest just one grand prize and maybe second and third places.
>prize poolTaking the two above reasons into account, 40 diamond blocks doesn't seem like a good motivator for such a large amount of effort. This is kinda a small reason for not being interested in participating but I think the event should make people want to do it even for free, like they already do with their personal projects.
