>>76137783ah figured out why it went so much different in koyos playthrough!
1. she did a bit more grinding than me/got hit more, didn't realize it but koyos party all had around 6k hp, mine had barely 4
2. more important! i used osmosis to take the emperors mp away which was a bit of a mistake because if he has no mp he just melees every round and since he lifesteals, this explains why her fight took 5 minutes and mine had me wanting to die, as he heals about 2k hp every time he hits you
i ended up letting he kill everyone and just reviving them with a couple hp and not healing them, just using ultima and flare (each did about 1k damage) still took forever even though at the end he was just healing for 400 each hit
overall i enjoyed ff2, glad i played it!
