>>84841943Same. I dropped in on one of his casual streams about a year or two ago and it's fun but man he was the funniest and coolest part of the team back then kek
>>84841968I should probably watch it if I can find the time, since Fuuchan is awesome and Majora's Mask is so fucking awesome and there's a lot of influence there in FUNGER 2: 3 day cycle, Old God Moon having the TERMINA FESTIVAL, etc. While it's a death game setting, while having feelings of stuff like Higurashi. It's a lot of fun.
>>84842012For me personally? I think FUNGER 1 has a much more well-realized setting and feels unique and cool despite Miro being one of the most reference-minded developers I've seen. The Dungeons of Fear & Hunger has it's own character, and the time period and air of mystery when you play the game blind is fantastic. It's a brutal place that doesn't hold your hand, rarely gives you second chances, and wants you to know you're it's bitch. Part of the appeal too is as you dig deeper past your initial plot hook/goal you realize how much more there is to the dungeon, and all the different ways you can end up learning it's secrets, finding companions, doing weird shit like Marriage or participating in cannibalism and or orgies with the bunnymasks and wolfmasks, etc. Eventually you have the options to pursue Endings A, B, C1 C2, D and E as well as the 4 character-specific S endings. It even has it's psuedo VN mode in Dungeon Nights putting the characters into a dumb high school anime setting for funnies. It's basically a complete game with tons of content.
FUNGER 2 Termina still needs baking, Miro isn't done with the narrative sides, wants all the contestants to be playable with their own mechanics and is adding a new character or two (if it's too troublesome he's only making one character and the dev time will instead be dedicated to cleaning Termina up and working on FUNGER 3), already has a few new maps coming in, and wants to introduce more endings and lategame threat presence since it's a little soft when you actually get to late game. I feel like what Funger 2 needs to stand out more is fleshing out character events and interactions. Since it's basically a death game but at the moment only the player really moves the dial a lot besides one or two others like Caligura and Pav (August too, who I want to play the most but is probably going to be the last character fleshed out properly because he's got a lot of tie-ins to the first game and the deeper lore), and their interactions are too few and far between. I definitely think Termina is easier to get into and is a lot of fun in a very different way than Funger 1. It's also far more polished between features like default dash, diagonal movement, interacting always working instead of sometimes requiring two presses, cool mechanics like guns, and is definitely the fun game for exploring various routes and figuring out what time cycle you wanna finish the game on, a much better Hexen, and very cool on the lore follow ups like Enki's influence in spreading the Skin Tomes around the world. I also think Termina has consistently better music but Funger 1 has generally more bangers. If I had to choose which one I like better overall? Funger 1. if I had to choose which one I think has the most potential to stick out and keep things interesting because of it's narrative+death game aspects allowing for multi-faceted runs and endings? Termina will win when feature complete and it's other endings are all added (ATM Miro considers it waaaay to ending light).
