Genuine question. I never really delved too deep into VTubers, or anything idol culture for that matter, but there's always been a question on the back of my mind that doesn't have a readily available answer; something I think only /vt/ can answer. Simply put: What is it about males, and/or females collabing with them, that upsets people.
If the answer were as simple as bitterness or jealousy (which I'm sure plays a role, but can't be the whole story), then I wouldn't be asking. But the reason I'm skeptical about that being the end of it is because for an industry and culture this big, I get the impression there's got to be more. Maybe some history, substance to the viewpoint that deepens its simple sentiments... Hell, I remember back when 3DPD started, a lot of it was also bitterness. But even for that, there was still something more to be said..
