>>79482310It's not even Bay Ridge that's the issue in this case, it's the tunnel in East New York that it's supposed to use. The tunnel is perfectly wide enough for four tracks, since the light rail would have to share its route with freight, but the MTA deems it "unfeasible" because one of the tunnels has a fuel line to JFK in it. In their infinite wisdom, they decided that relocating the pipes is too much work so the solution is to run the light rail onto the street where it can be delayed be car traffic. Obviously.
