Rewatching the stream, paying a bit more attention. The fault was mostly chat's. Call me a white knight gosling if you like.
The first half an hour was fine. The point degradation started: 25:30. Uruka does not seem to like being called bad at vidya. Then Uruka started to shut off, concentrating on the game probably. After that, next minute with a couple one line replies. Oh, and a comment about the game, which Uruka did well building on, and got more one line replies out of. Asking about her company got nothing, genmates nothing. Chat notices she doesn't like feet talk, gets another one line reply. 5 minutes of Chat trying to get anything out of Uruka with no results. At this point the hype train starts trying to come to the rescue. Next five minutes is much the same but now with two line replies Uruka. She finally gets some interaction out of starbucks! Chat tried to build off of it but flubbed, missed opportunity. Hair problems, Chat has hair, talk about hair, snatch from that topic to go to the next instead of starting a whole new one. It looks like she prepared some questions beforehand but you don't need to ask all of them, just try until one starts working and this one is one that could have.
Uruka was just not willing to interact. What was she doing? This was her chance to shill herself to a larger audience, be interesting for fucks sake! "I post on twitter and I stream." Really? That's all you have to say? She asks the same question back, except Chat actually talks about themself. What does she get back? One lines and sighing. They don't mesh, at all. They have nothing in common. But Chat fucking tried man, through half an hour of nothing. She even starts getting somewhere with the glow talk. She got Uruka interacting! Only everything she said was basic and uninteresting. Could she have tried better? Absolutely. There were things she could have done to draw Uruka out more, if she was great at social interaction. We all know she isn't. My advice: She needs to chameleon in collabs. We love based menhera bunny but collabs are about the interaction between the streamers. Look up some more normalfag topics, just the basics of them is fine, and then ask the other person about specifics to get them talking. Music probably would have worked in Uruka's case. "What sort of training do you do?" for instance when the radio came up.
Then the numbers question comes. And you know what? It was absolutely deserved. Uruka had brought absolutely nothing to the stream so far and would continue not to. Uruka asks for banter, Chattries bantering, gets none in return.
After this Uruka finally tries to start some topics, no wait. That's Maple's. Maple's chat. In Uruka's stream, desperately trying to make something work.
Not going to go over the rest with a fine comb right now. Chat continues to try bantering, Uruka seems to get genuinely upset and starts sniping. Chat doesn't bite back, good on her. Uruka really didn't show up with anything, even basically said she expected Chat to do all the talking. They should have hashed out some topics before the stream, talked for an hour or two at least in the weeks before the collab and probably picked a different game. She needs to give more co-op games a try when she collabs. A puzzle game they could have bullied each other over would have been good.
Don't be too hard on yourself over this, Bear. Watch the stream back, try to pick up on things you could have done better, note them down and work on them.
