Honestly, if Amelia wasn't so important for the Gura "lore" they would have probably yeeted her completely. Her IP ain't THAT strong on it's own.

It's obvious Gura has signed something similar as well, she rarely streams more than 4 times a month - she's on a "stream as little or as much as you want just keep the IP alive" mode.
I'm guessing this will be the practice for high profile graduations going forward as long as the voice actor isn't completely opposed to the idea. IP is hard to build, makes a lot of sense.
Disney doesn't kill off their characters when the voice actor dies.
