>>86117195My theory for why there are timeline splits in the first place is that they are caused by the convergence of the full triforce, not by time travel alone. These games have time travel always pop up yet the only times when we get a new timeline is when the full triforce comes together in combination with said time travel, other wise the timeline just fixes itself back into a single one. That's why we get the hero is defeated timeline splitting off first because ganondorf is victorious and uses the triforce in the original timeline before Link uses time travel to fix it and we get the child timeline because Zelda uses the full triforce unknowingly when she sends link back to before Ganondorf's rebellion
and we get a timeline split in Skyward sword when they use the Triforce to defeat demise but still travel back in time to defeat him again which creates the Breath of the Wild timeline
