Think of it as Mori's Japanese, she can parse the questions and quips of "reactions" to her, but she simply can't respond quickly or use a canned reaction in a live setting. It's that forming an English sentence in a snap is harder for a japanese due to their retarded syntax, and simplified pronunciation. SEA like Anya and Iofi had an easier time going into Japanese because of similar syntax and basically expanded version of Japanese phoneme. It's like going against whatever you had learned in your life on how to talk to learn English for them
