This is so that the things you like/love stay the way they are, how you like/love them. You might be thinking oh how does a singular piece of fanart threaten anything? It might seem silly to talk about some ugly rendition of Kronii like a pipe bomb, but do note that we're all governed by what we don't understand. All our actions are results of complex brain cycles which are in turn influenced by our environment. That is why society needs principles and mechanisms, so that we can act according to general ideas and steer ourselves towards the good things, good qualities, good life. And one of these mechanisms is shame and mockery, being able to point at the fact that someone is drawing deliberately ugly people (that are shaped after deliberately beautiful anime people) and parading it around, wearing it like a badge of virtue. In doing so we send a signal to our peers "look at what this person is doing - this decreases our qualities and reflects badly on you so don't do it".
