If you go up from water level, if you go down from water level - you will start to choke, like swimming underwater. You need respirators/oxygen tanks to deal with it (so yeah unironically you will choke if you will try digging diamonds from the get-go). Temperature - there are seasons, and there's temp drop at night. Below 5 C you cannot sleep in bed. You can build campfires, or even hearths. You can also die to freezing/overheating. To deal with that, you can use waterskins and either boil them, or freeze them depending on what you want. Also, there is fur clothing. ... This is *basics*, without that you will be literally dying from exposure. HAVE FUN GIRLS LOLOL
Create? Yeah, that mod is bread and butter of this modpack. Everything advanced like rockets, guns, nuclear reactors - you will need first to make some assembly lines and such: for steel, gunpowder etc. THOUGH, you aren't specifically forced to do all of that. You can enjoy mostly vanilla experience and avoid Create stuff altogheter. I figure every group has at least one autist which will provide factory for the rest of girls. Seems reasonable. But man, two weeks is really not that much time. It took me like a month to make nice factory last time I dabbled with Create.
