Indies making progress feels more meaningful than big corpos making progress. Not much difference between 300k subs and 301k subs but 1k subs means a lot to most of the ones posted in here. Also just a bit of nostalgia, with everything being smaller it feels more like '18 and '19 where vtuber streaming was still just getting off the ground. The jankiness of some of them helps to add to that feeling, too. Sometimes everything being professional and perfect takes away from the soul. Finally, a few of the vtubers posted here are just straight up from that era and it's a matter of loyalty to keep supporting them.
