Learning radicals makes you realise that even "the most complicated" meme kanji like in pic related is just 3x the kanji for cloud 雲 and 3x the kanji for dragon 龍 smushed together. Makes you look at kanji like a combination of radicals instead of a random smush of strokes, which really helps.
