i may have misunderstood but that might explain why the stand extends like 20 feet into the air, maybe they are doing line of sight optical connection to the booth, which is hard wired. there seems to be no latency or connection issues. which if you've ever attended a con is nearly impossible over wifi or mobile due to the signal interference from 20k people using mobile devices in one place.
