I think it would be cool if we had a bunch of robots or automatons on the island(s) for cargo, transport, agriculture, and/or mining and other jobs. Maybe our ports could have automated loaders/unloaders to make shipping faster and explain how our island can remain a regional power despite being separated from the mainland by being a center for trade. Maybe schizos and tourists stowaway on merchant vessels and sneak in once they dock. We could also have security bots like picrel.
