>>63613240>But some "critiques" are genuinely mean spirited and don't feel like jokes, it feels like some of you legitimately perceive that liver as a terrible person and don't care if awful things happen to them IRL of they die. Take Kyo for instance, I have my gripes with him but when I bring up the way he gets treated compared to the rest of NijiEN anons will go "That doesn't count because he's actually a bad person, proof? He's annoying and ruins collabs so it's okay for me to wish he dies". The fact that he's outed as an exception at all is already hypocritical, either it's okay for any liver to be ruthlessly shitposted about and you don't get mad if thread favorites are targeted, or none of it's okay. This is just my take but I think the reason Kyo gets such an unreasonably aggressive level of hate is because he's the one who is always the first to stir up drama around others and generally panders to the demographic that loves to cancel other vtubers. Anons just want to see him "get what he deserves" even if that means dying from his illness. It's shitty but it's why "either everyone is off limits or no one is" doesn't quite work. It's like the paradox of tolerance I guess? He should distance himself from the dramafags, that's my only advice if the guy doesn't want people to wish for his death. Not saying it's even correct to wish death on him but I can see why some anons see him as fair game if they perceive him as an existential threat to the branch or their oshi.
>On the topic of Luca, Lucubs DO defend him against unreasonable accusations and they often get met with "Wow you can't take criticism? I don't even watch his streams and I totally have a better judgement of his character than you, who watches all his streams, you're just dumb". If nothing you say changes anyone's mind it demotivates you from trying at all don't you think?I disagree here, this is totally anecdotal but Lucubs talking sincerely about Luca and the nice things he does for others humanized him for me imo. I still don't like him as a liver but I don't think defending your oshi is a waste of time. And when Lucubs pointed out things like he did in fact apologize for the Minecraft server it did stop a lot of the posting around that narrative. It's not necessarily that arguing with shitposters is always worth the effort, but showing that your oshi and his fans are willing to have good faith discussion with fans of other livers will absolutely improve his reputation over time. Hiding from the critics just lets the bad faith posters control the narrative. At least make them work for it. Many anons may not like Enna for example, but we still don't believe a single thing Ennaschizo says about her because he's a schizo that will never discuss her in good faith or admit being wrong. It does serve as an opportunity for Aloupeeps to disprove lies and provide actual correct context for anons who don't watch Enna, which makes it even easier to identify bullshit.
