Selen did exactly this by repeatedly changing her steam name, to use it as a distress signal. Arguably, her hospital wristband tweet and New Year's voice tweet could count as violating this rule; tweeting literally anything at all after that could also count, as the act of doing so exposed the lie that she can't use the internet due to recovering from her recent hospitalization. And playing Apex proves that her hospitalization recovery is not preventing her from playing Apex.
They can't NOT fire her for this, especially due to the established precedent. The question is how do they fire her for telling the world she was stealth suspended, without telling the world she was stealth suspended in the process
spoiler alert: they can'tAnother fun can of worms the upcoming Notice™ will open up for them is that they knew as early as Dec 26 that she wouldn't show up to Anime Impulse, but didn't tell them or anyone else until Jan 10. By that point the fans who bought tickets to her meet and greet could not get refunds for hotel and airfare, in some cases because they had already flown to LA and checked into their hotel. They got refunds for their meet and greet tickets, but not for the money they spent traveling.
Anime Impulse is gonna have a "fun" time explaining to various lawyers why they were selling tickets to an event they knew or should reasonably have known they would have to cancel, and then waited until the last possible minute to actually cancel. Or if they didn't know about it before the rest of the world did, their lawyers will probably talk to Niji's lawyers about this, because somebody's gonna be on the hook for defrauding the dragoons out of non-refundable travel and lodging costs.
