>>7552976The Kaida Haru tweet happened a month and a half after her 3D debut, so she had literally 100 000 newfags to tardwrangle and clearly quite a few of them were unicorns. That Idolbu had just imploded is probably relevant, since I've seen several people confidently state that it is very clear a good amount of their fanbase moved on to Hololive and apparently had a reputation for being unicorns or just dregs of the otaku world in general. But it wouldn't be surprising if fans of a company called Idolbu latch on someone who labels herself as an idol and happens to blow up right when they are looking for new chuubas to watch. They probably hadn't had the time to dive too deep into archives and were no doubt sampling other chuubas while at it.
Also Nijisanji had had a Tetris tournament the day before. There were technical issues, Kaida wasn't necessarily the (only) culprit, but he ended up winning the round at least, so he got blamed, or he got blamed first and then had the gall to win, I don't really know how exactly it all worked out. Either way, he got dislikebombed for that and that's awfully coincidental with him getting dislikebombed the day after regarding the same game. Also from what I've gathered he was hated on 5ch pretty much immediately after his debut, but I don't know why, apparently he made Marine-style sex jokes, but is a dude, so it's not okay for the majority male fanbase.
Anyway, the whole incident is incredibly stupid, but it really does get brought up every now and then which is the only reason I've tried to dig up anything about it as I thought something more serious happened. Really, the fact that the best antis can seemingly do is remind about a single deleted tweet over a year ago mostly goes to show the utter lack of drama surrounding Suisei. Already a couple of days later Nijifans were brushing it off as a nothingburger, but evidently it still lives rent free in some heads. I wonder if Haru himself even remembers it happened.
>>7553097From what I've seen of 5ch, there are indeed some unicorns amongst the Hoshiyomi, but 99% of the outrage comes from the antis. The unicorn fans simply don't watch a collab they don't want to see and maybe proceed to comment about it if an anti starts a discussion. Although anti is a strong word and more likely it's just bored shitposters with no strong feelings about the matter one way or another.
>>7552941Yeah, I tend to assume that when multiple options for mob mentality are offered, all are true. Usually people need some bigger underlying issue and the spark is just outrage of the day that wouldn't necessarily qualify even as an outrage in and of itself, not just in vchuuba world, but people in general. But when people see their hobby horse gain traction more and more people who really do believe that today's menu is truly outrageous jump in.
>>7552334One thing leads to another. For example, many of the countries with reputation for heavy drinking have high numbers of teetotalers and sobriety societies.
