There's a folktale about how folding 1000 cranes will grant you a wish, so while Sadako Sasaki was dying in her hospital bed, she spent her time folding cranes hoping that if she made 1000 of them she would be cured of her cancer. As her health worsened and it became clear that she was not going to recover, she instead wished for world peace. Later a monument of her would be erected in some park.
The idea I had was a sickly origami-themed vtuber, and using the crane would hold significance, but I worry that people might take it the wrong way. I could just use different origami animals I suppose.
