>>20475327Aight, Voteanon mentioned me in his post so I was extra motivated to get this done by the time I said I would.
Here are four proposed concepts for the North Pole.
A has mostly an open sea, with the Arctic countries' territory reaching a ways into the polar circle.
B has a landmass based on the old map for the Holocontinent. Most of this territory would be best classified as unclaimed schizo wastelands, as similar to IRL Antarctica this territory would thoroughly inhospitable to human life.
C is the same, with a strait in the shishilamy territory such that the passage of ships is made possible in the right conditions (more on that later).
D is another variation, now with another strait in the schizo wastelands.
The circles are very rough estimates of where the sea ice boundaries might end up in summer and winter based on the latitudes reached by the ice shelf in this IRL satellite data:
http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/category/analysis/page/18/https://nsidc.org/cryosphere/quickfacts/seaice.htmlThe actual territory covered by this ice depends on a plethora of complex factors. In general, there would be more ice closer to the land, and less ice in the middle of the ocean.
In other words, it seems like regardless of the option chosen, this Arctic ocean would be very difficult to navigate at any time of the year given our current technology level.
Please ignore the difference in sculpt quality for the Holocontinent between A and the other options. Also, keep in mind that all this material is WIP and will be adjusted through feedback and the refinements I will make either way.

Also there was a clock shitting his pants about /inf/ island getting smaller, I'd like to reiterate that was some WIP on the side and no changes will be made to the island without discussion with the /inf/ rep.
