French has a few families of verb conjugation, so once you learn one of each it's very simple. In normal parlance, you have -er verbs (ex: aller, "to go"), -re verbs (ex: être, "to be"), and -ir verbs (ex: dormir, "to sleep").
The first lessons I had in my French classes were to teach me which pronoun is what and verb conjugation to form sentences.
