Burger King does Emo-klore TTRPG streams with Holos every once in a while.
https://youtu.be/KSKke-mqZnYhttps://youtu.be/jgp7sD2IeecOllie did Math streams
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuvbuHBlctU&list=PLk4N6AFvLWe07hbWZ3XTQIU_1I7ibXHxsMoona did AoE II, Selen did StarCraft so you'll get your strategy games in real time at least. I am particularly happy about this as someone who grew up in a family where everyone played whatever RTS was thrown at them for close to 20 years.
There a few people who played Guilty Gear Strife. I wish MorIna's Lethal League collab worked out properly and led to more but yeah...
/diy/ stuff is not a likely nieche for a vtuber. You are asking for someone who streams often (crafting is usually for vods though) AND has a history with leatherworking, smithing, home improvement etc (in which case you learned it by being employed as such), AND who is going to show their workshop from several angles without a face reveal? I can see a lockpicking chuuba since you can do that without filming the stuff you need from 3 different angles. So, you'll get chuubas doing gunpla streams, take it or leave it.
Here are your coding chuubas.

Probably, the reason it's not as common is the same why people who do music don't show it off live. You don't watch a chuuba because you like to see them produce music, it's because you like their music. The equivalent would probably be a chuuba making his or her own video game... and there is a Holostar doing that, right? Anyway, you get Fofamit, take her or leave it.
