Doing submissions by new invalidates one of the points she brought up in favor of using reddit, that being ease of moderation. Once everyone realizes posting more than an hour before the stream starts means your submission won't be seen you'll end up with the sub flooded with a couple hundred submissions all coming in ten minutes before the stream starts and good luck to the mods sorting through them all in time.
