>>29002002Previously, there was just me and another /uuu/ rep who should be returning soon. What we decided on is that Saplings are initially human beings that have returned to primal life-styles with a shamanistic religion. While they remain more human, they naturally develop along their lifecycle, they become imbued with magical capabilities and develop more plant-like qualities.
Early on, I wanted human saplings to live out their natural human lives, die, and then return as those round, smooth plant creatures while developing their seed form into larger Tree-spirit creatures with a decent amount of dimorphism developing but it kinda fell through.
I should probably go back and revamp the lifecycle portion with a proper description of each phase because on paper that sounds like a good adjustment to me.
>>29002177MAGIC IS EVERYTHING. Also, Saplings do not have the infrastructure or proper mining tools. Basically, Saplings harvest gems they naturally find when they explore caves or break apart in geodes and so on, which is to say there are untold numbers of rich veins of gems and other resources that lie just beneath the surface.
