I sliced my hand open attempting to pry a stuck brake pedal from my bike at the time. I went to the emergency room for stitches. The thing is, I had literally quit my job the day before. I was sent a hospital bill of around $2000 and they told me my health insurance wasn't active. The thing is, I was paid biweekly and hadn't even received my last paycheck yet. A week later when I did receive it on payday they still charged me for health insurance. I don't know if my health insurance was supposed to be cancelled the second I quit or not, but I should have complained to my past workplace about them charging me for insurance on my final paycheck after it had already been cancelled and at least gotten a few hundred dollars back. I ended up paying it entirely out of pocket instead.
