As we saw with Nijisanji, continued abuse of the raid function and raiding into content that didn't hold appeal from one chuuba's fanbase to the other eventually led to an erosion of their capacity to hold onto raids.
While it doesn't reflect the natural growth of an individual's audience, it does reflect the growth of an entire company, and if you take your time to really LOOK into the numbers, you'll be able to glean data that wasn't around before (like how successful a person's content can be to people from different individual fanbases, how much one group gels with another, etc.)
