>>80512597anon streamers or i guess its exclusive to vtubers, they start to lose connections irl because they cant talk about what they do everyday, streaming in general isolates you from your real life while emphasizing your connections online. your connections being numbers and messages from complete strangers validating you and your actions on a stream. its true that eventually they will gain confident over time the longer and the more people keep watching them. but thats only because they want to please their fans and viewers not because its what "they" really are. streaming isnt for anybody and there's a lot of stories out there that e-celebs pull just to grain more points from their viewers. vtubers arent so different, whats also not so different from them is developing a parasocial connection to their viewers. yes, the redesigning of their avatars and models to be more suggestive or seductive further is part of the reason, fanservice to be exact. parasocial isnt a new concept, its basically our minds getting tricked into developing a connection with someone, watching streamers isnt natural in the first place. the streamer feeds into the viewers just as much as the viewers feed into the streamer, the oshi mirrors the fans etc. thats why corpos and larger indies tend to have their own managers or tardwranglers, a good streamer knows that they arent invulnerable to these things hence having someone who manage you is a necessary evil thing. some fans might get mad they their oshi doesnt get as much freedom as they want, but unless you want your oshi to keep lovebombing you because she ended up falling for her own chat then thats a recipe for disaster, and plainly its unhealthy. but who am i to deny fansa from my oshi?
