This is still true to this day with games that don't use forced AI slop and the end result is often better because of framegen, upscaling and raytracing is still a noisy mess with noticable input lag or god forbid motion blur. You're caving in to an industry that is trying to turn PC gaming into console peasantry but with AMD vs NVIDIA instead of Xbox vs Playstation but the only loser is you because they're not trying to improve things for the end consumer. They're just trying to show up the AI capabilities of their cards and force you to pay a premium because the price is inflated due to cryptobros and LLMs.
