DR2 was good too, but Dead Rising is a LOT darker than DR2. Like it was just a random ass town in the middle of nowhere, there 50,000 people were living peacefully, only for a terror attack to fuck it up and kill everyone in the town. All to cover up some fucked up experiments the US was doing.
DR2 was a LOT lighter than DR1 especially when you realize that Frank is about as psychotic as everyone he fights, since he chops them down no questions asked and never tries to reason with them, it's his way or the highway.
