>>58970042I'm going to work on my character sheet now, I got too sidetracked by a conversation that started with "Imagine if instead of playing games you had AI playing for you against AI during work." and another person replying with "Why do that when you just get AI to do the work for you so you can play games."
>>58970102It was a very fun time. There's no easy way to explain any of it but there is summaries of some concepts and how they have been used in media.
Basically AI will inevitably lead to capitalism not working as a system for humans to make money in order to purchase resources to survive, either by forcing it to end through governments having to shift how society is run in order for people to provide for themselves and others and create their own prosperity. Concepts have been explored in Science fiction for 80 years now, like the dyson sphere, which is basically a megastructure built around stars to harvest their energy, coined by a sci-fi novelist in 1937. It's the most efficient means of harvesting energy for all purposes. Life is energy, and stars are the source of all energy.
Some games and media have explored these concepts. For example:
1.Star Trek is an idealized post-scarcity universe where Space is the Final Frontier, thus the only thing that needs any pursuit.
2.In Supreme Commander, Energy conversion into matter fabrication is just how things are done, so instead of humans fighting wars, we send a single human commander to fight wars with fabricated armies of robots that fabricate more robots to keep fighting the wars until the other commanders are wiped out.
3.In Fallout, humanity was on the cusp of post-scarcity with the Vending Machine tech found in the Sierra Madre casinos, which utilized Sierra Madre Chips to act as batteries, while being able to convert the alloys from the chips into everything from food, to medicine, to weapons, ammo, clothing, material goods, etc. If the nukes didn't hit, the Fallout universe would become a post-scarce society inevitably due to the nature of this technology.
TL;DR: The only thing left of value at that point would come down to 3 things:
1. Research & Development for future tech
2. The Exploration of humanity's unconquered frontiers, such as space
3. Creative pursuits
This is because human labor (work) will inevitably be valueless, thus capitalistic societies as we have them today just won't work while ethically preserving human lives.
This is all wildly offtopic so I'll turn my attention away, it's just extreme autism that I hope I get to wow my future wife
Praying it's Rosemi-sama with someday. Also can't wait to vodgang Rosemi's minecraft stream tomorrow and watch the DMC5 stream on Friday, really really excited for the latter but Rosemi's Minecraft vod will be very comfy too!
