When you market your corpo as being "one big family" it's safer to keep hiring people who were already friends with the current livers. It would be a complete miracle if 26 complete strangers being paid to game together and pretend to be friends all actually liked eachother.
Remember those other youtube "content groups" that completely dissolved? That completely manufactured sense of friendship will easily fall apart the second two people have a disagreement or one guy sexually harasses their coworker.
They're never just gonna pick the most talented. A lot of amazing talents probably got rejected just because they didn't have any external connections to NijiEN or their tastes and ideology don't line up with the other members.
