When Mouse mentioned wanting to do one, it was viewed with interest because of her situation. It is only now that people have gone sour on them, which is mostly due to how many people have followed Ludwig's idea but not keeping the spirit in tact. Honestly I blame the Whorca more for this than anything. Mouse did it exactly the same as Ludwig, never left stream, treated it like the endurance trial it was, and was woefully unprepared for the length of it. She did pause it once for Bubi's debut but that can be forgiven since that was a planned event that she never thought would get overlapped with her subathon.
Most streamers I've seen do subathons since were mostly money grabs with no real motivation behind them. No meaning, no spirit. The capped ones are all fine because they're short and have little impact, but an uncapped one should have some kind of principles behind it, but that's not happening. This is why I found Froot's interesting. She did something slightly different in that chat always paid for her actual on stream entertainment portion not her sleeping. At least people got what they paid for: content.
