Honestly you'd have to be blind to not have seen the writing on the wall. Magni is who he is, he always saw this as a business opportunity, it didn't pay off and doing 2 jobs was too much effort for miniscule gain. Vesper thought working for a corpo would be different, he was battered after the XCOM thing and clearly checked out after the suspension, it's completely obvious in his content after that. Also doesn't help that he's easily influenced by people and pretty close to Magni who sits on Vesper's shoulder like a little faggy devil and whispers stuff to him.
None of this comes as a surprise.
What you really got to worry about is Bettel going the Magni way. Considering how close they are, I would bet my ass that when his contract is up, Tempus becomes a 5 person guild
