Gamergate was gay. I know, bear with me, but Gamergate was gay because it was all just arguing with people who are diametrically opposed to your existence and that's a waste of time. There was something during the whole mess that was a massive success, however, and that was Operation: Disrespectful Nod. The general gist is you mass e-mail the sponsors of such websites pretending to be outraged soccer moms saying shit like, "My son was just looking for cheat codes to one of his video games and was exposed to an article on Kotaku calling him evil and saying he was going to sexually assault women because that's what gamers do. I cannot support anyone who funds such harmful articles, therefore I will no longer be purchasing your products and will be advising blah blah blah" Just make it look authentic, look it up. If you can get a bunch of people on board (or just use AI) you can absolutely drown a company's inboxes to the point where they'll take action just to make it stop. Be sure to look up the CEOs and head management (their info is usually public) and hit them too, because advertisers don't actually give a fuck who they're using to advertise and will happily drop any company, website, or talent if it means they can go back to playing golf in peace.
And this is Vice so that shit'll be easy. "My boy just wanted to learn a bit more about politics, and he has been repeatedly exposed to sexual fetishism at the hands of a rumoured paedophile. How can your company continue to support such people? Until this is resolved, I'm afraid I cannot in good conscious continue to do business with Jaguar Land Rover." Don't bother arguing on twitter, don't bother sending death threats to whoever comments on this shit from the outskirts, don't bother going back-and-forth with idealogues on 4chan, do your own Disrespectful Nod (I'm sure there's enough of you who are autistic enough to make it work) and you can absolutely fucking bury them within the month.
