It has been almost a whole ten days and I still fail to see the base appeal of Mumei divorced from what schizos and delusional hoomans claim. She's not going to fit into GFE for obvious reasons, the most obvious being that Green Lamy mogs her in every form and facet. She's not going to replace Gooruh as the dedicated moeblob because her personality starts and ends at being an unapologetic idiot. She sticks to kayfabe like the rrat but unlike Baelz (and arguably Sana) there's nothing lurking beneath surface of her lore, mannerisms, and what-have-you. This isn't even touching upon her streams, which are tied with early Mori for being some of the most stilted and janky I've seen in Hololive.
Someone will undoubtedly pass off this post as doomposting but I find it to be a reaction against such. The fact that Mumei's image has transitioned to that of a Katawa Shoujo OC in the matter of maybe only 72 hours is telling, because it shows that she is fundamentally boring and unable to capture audience's attention that they have to reach into the farthest depths of their imagination to conjure up a unique space for her to occupy in the already packed roster of Hololive's English branch. Is there a long-run solution beyond entrenching oneself in the throes of saviorism?
