So yes, surgeons and doctors who work with critical patients are heroes. As for bronchitis and other common diseases that you might get prescribed a simple painkiller, cough suppressants and maybe some antibiotics for, it's often because there isn't any actual cure for it other than your natural immune system. And that has nothing to do with your doctor most of the time, medicine just isn't that advanced yet.
As for Nerissa, she should be taking a steroid nasal spray or a couple of nebulizer sessions to get her up and running rapidly.
