They are desperate to get their oshi's attention even if they aren't even talking on the same frequencies. Instead of seeing the fans that get the reference and make a funny comment about it normally, the only thing the vtuber will see at first is the most desperate ones that are glued to their screen waiting for her to post. I like that they are popular but I unironically think a smaller fanbase can provide a healthier rapport between streamer and fans.
