Ame came up with the idea of her being a time traveler shortly after her crackhead debut and the interrogation collab. She realized that she was eventually going to run out of ideas that go along with a detective-themed kayfabe. The idea of a time/dimension-traveling detective solving extranormal mysteries, not only allowed for more freedom with her character, but also worked out in a way that allowed her to try different things with her character, which if they didn't work out, she could easily just handwave it as an Ame from a different timeline. The latter part eventually got reworked into the alternate timeline Ames and different models, when she realized that no one expected her to keep up kayfabe, which is why for example Small Ame is more unhinged than "normal" Ame.
