Where you guys... at sleepovers when you were a kid?
If you had sleepovers, were you the person who was awake first, or last, or in the middle. In the morning- I feel like I always woke up first.
And I would feel so awkward, and I wouldn't know what to do.
Yeah I would like wake up first, especially if you are at your friends house-
If you are at your own house you could just do whatever y'know.
But if you're at at your friends house... and your friend is still sleeping but you're awake
I always felt so awkward, and I dunno like should I wake them up? And sometimes like the worst thing would happen.
Which would be like- their mom comes up and asks you if you want to eat breakfast- and I'm like I don't know!
I need my friend to make this decision but she's asleep!
Sometimes I would just pretend to be asleep for a while longer.
[Those moms are so nice] It's true, and like now imagining.. it's like not a big deal at all right?
Just eat the breakfast.
There have been many times at sleepovers, where I'm pretending to be asleep because its awkward, this was in the era before smartphones for me too.
So I didn't have the luxury just going on your phone until your friend wakes up.
Yeah! Kids these days have smartphones don't even have to worry about that right.
Can just go on their phones, play subway surfers until their friend wakes up.
They don't have to worry about "gosh what should I do?" "Is it OK for me to rifle trough my friends stuff to figure out what I should do?"
"Can I play their video games while they're asleep?" I don't know
So I would just pretend to be asleep, and then as soon as they wake up I'm like "yaaawn good morning"
And they're like "how long have you been awake" And I'm like "I just woke up"
(Laugh) You rummaged trough their snack cabinet? I'm too afraid to go downstairs- to the kitchen.
Cause what if I see their family y'know, it'd be scary. (laugh) Have to talk to their family- my friends family.
I don't know- I guess if you're a confident child you could do that.
What if you end up eating their snacks that they- that they were saving though?
I always feel a little awkward, or felt a little awkward going to friends family's houses
Cause I don't know what your family's rules are, I don't know whats normal- for you
Like- do you set the table before you eat, who does the dishes, when do you do the dishes- I don't know the rules!
I guess you should always volunteer to do the dishes after a meal, or while they're cooking even
But I don't know! Do you take your shoes off? I don't know! (laugh)
[Go offer and you'd know] But what if its like your kid- your kids and your friend is not helping- not offering to help, should you offer to help? I don't know
[Yes]? Probably, its never wrong to offer your assistance, its always appreciated, especially if they're cooking for you.
Oh I like- table manners, I don't know, how formal are they? Is it fine to put your elbows on the table, I don't know!
Is it okay to reach to grab something, or should you say "please pass me the peas" (laugh)
You should probably ask for them to pass it to you, being extra polite never hurts.
"Peas please", [is it rude to ask for salt and pepper] yeah- I don't know, if someone asked me for salt and pepper
I would be like taken aback a little bit, but that's cause I don't salt my food at the table
