Dark Ages is the correct term and the one you should be using. Even if you were to use a replacement, the commonly accepted term is Early Medieval Europe or Early Middle Ages. The term Antiquity refers primarily to Greece during the pre-roman era, though often includes up to the dissolution of the Roman Empire. Using the term Antiquity to refer to the Dark Ages is unclear and just muddles the era you're actually trying to talk about. This probably invalidates your thesis or whatever, but deep in your heart you know it is true.
