Statistics like this are always insanely inflated because someone who was raped is way more likely to respond to a survey about being raped than someone who wasn't. That's just an inescapable flaw in our psychology. Obviously women get molested but they also very frequently misinterpret things, a stranger in a train trying to get to the door touching their ass could very well be reported with no actual intention to molest. Rape is also a huge grey area since they include attempted in the category. I've personally seen women say they were nearly raped because a guy was just running near them. It pains me to say but we can't trust these kinds of self reported numbers for basically anything, empirical double blind studies always show the actual number of victims is significantly lower.
